A Le Mans-style simulator session is a team endurance race: several people share one car, each drives a stint, and the team that covers the most distance — or finishes first — wins. Nobody runs a full 24 hours at a party, but a one- to three-hour team race with pit-stop driver changes captures what makes Le Mans different from a sprint: consistent laps, clean driving and good handovers matter more than one hero lap.

The real race, briefly

The 24 Hours of Le Mans runs on the Circuit de la Sarthe, which includes public roads. Its most famous section, the six-kilometer Mulsanne Straight, is where Roger Dorchy set the circuit speed record of 405 km/h in 1988; two chicanes were added for safety in 1990 (24 Hours of Le Mans). The 2025 race featured three classes — Hypercar, LMP2 and LMGT3 — and Porsche holds the record for overall wins by a manufacturer, with 19 as of the organizer’s 2018 historical statistics.

How driver changes work

The rules exist to manage fatigue. For 2025, DailySportscar’s regulations overview notes that no driver may drive more than four hours in any six-hour period, and no driver more than 14 hours in total; in LMP2 and LMGT3, Bronze- and Silver-graded drivers must each drive at least six hours.

Sim racing copies this. For the 2020 24 Hours of Le Mans Virtual, the organizer explained that each lineup had four drivers including at least two professionals, that the rFactor 2 platform supported driver changes and dynamic day/night transitions, and that drivers had to bring the car into the pits and stop to hand over — “just as in real life” (24 Hours of Le Mans).

An endurance format for your event

  1. Form teams of three or four, ideally mixing experienced and first-time drivers.
  2. Set a stint cap, in the spirit of the real rules, so no one hogs the wheel.
  3. Make the driver change count: a swap in the pit lane, with the clock running, rewards a team that plans.
  4. Score on distance: most laps in the time limit wins, with a penalty for incidents if you want to reward clean driving.
  5. Run night conditions for the final stint if the software supports a day-to-night cycle.

Endurance races suit team-building because every driver’s stint counts toward one result. Tell us your group size and time window and we will suggest how many rigs and how long a race makes sense. Car and track availability depend on the software; see the cars and tracks pages and ask us to confirm.

What the motion platform can and cannot do

A motion platform cannot hold you under real g-forces for seconds at a time, because it can only move within a small range. Motion-cueing software works around that. Researchers describe reproducing the quick, high-frequency part of each movement with real platform motion, tilting the seat so gravity stands in for longer accelerations, and then slowly “washing out” back to center so the platform stays inside its limits (Scheidel et al., arXiv). SIGMA Integrale describes its DK2 system as servo-motor actuators with 2 inches (50 mm) of travel, driven by the game’s telemetry to produce pitch, roll and heave for braking, acceleration, cornering and road texture.

Our fleet is 10 full-motion rigs. The full-motion rigs use SIGMA Integrale 2DOF/3DOF motion platforms, which are driven by electric actuators.

Book an endurance race

A team endurance race works best when you have a fixed block of time and groups that want to compete together. It fits corporate team-building, private parties, brand activations and trade shows. We deliver, set up, staff and tear down at hotels, event venues, offices and private homes. On-site staffing is included for up to 4 rigs.

Full-motion rigs are $2,750 per rig per day, with a $2,000 event minimum, all plus tax and insurance. Delivery is free within 50 miles of Miami; farther out, we quote delivery on request. See pricing for volume discounts. We also sell and lease simulators for homes and businesses. Our showroom and demo space is at 2920 NW 5th Ave, Suite 105, Miami, an address we share with Shift Arcade Miami.

Call (754) 228-5654, email hello@simsforhire.com or send an inquiry; we reply within 24 hours and can book with as little as 24 hours of lead time.
