Driving Monaco on a simulator is a precision test. The circuit is only 3.337 km long, with 19 turns, barriers inches from the racing line and almost nowhere to pass. In a sim, as in real life, one small mistake ends the lap. It is short enough to learn quickly and hard enough that a clean lap feels like an achievement.

The circuit in numbers

According to Formula 1, the Circuit de Monaco is 3.337 km with 19 turns, and the Grand Prix runs 78 laps (260.286 km). The lap record is 1:12.909, set by Lewis Hamilton in 2021. Racing in Monte Carlo began in 1929, Monaco has been on the F1 World Championship calendar since its first season in 1950, and the race forms part of motorsport's Triple Crown with the Indianapolis 500 and the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

Three-time world champion Nelson Piquet summed it up as "like riding a bicycle around your living room."

Speed between the walls

Monaco is slow by F1 standards but still fast between the walls. Brembo's 2026 Monaco data shows cars braking for Sainte Devote, the first corner, from 276 km/h (about 171 mph) to 132 km/h in 1.67 seconds over 91 meters, at 4 g. There are nine braking zones per lap, which take up 23% of the lap. In 2025, cars reached about 290 km/h on the pit straight with DRS, and for 2026 the FIA uses a special engine map at Monaco that cuts the electric motor's help at high speed, as Autosport reported.

Why qualifying matters so much

Track position is so valuable at Monaco that 10 of the last 12 races were won from the front row, according to Formula 1. On a simulator, that makes Monaco a natural time-trial track: one clean lap is what counts.

Monaco in simulators

Not every racing title includes Monaco; track licenses vary by game. The official F1 game from EA SPORTS is licensed by Formula 1. If driving Monaco specifically is the point of your event, raise it when you inquire, and we will tell you plainly what our setup can run.

Tips for a clean lap

At your event

A short, technical lap suits events: each run is quick, the line keeps moving, and spectators react to every near miss. Simulator experiences work at corporate events, private parties, brand activations and trade shows. SimsForHire delivers to hotels, event venues, offices and private homes, and we set up, staff and tear down. Our fleet is 10 full-motion rigs built on SIGMA Integrale 2DOF/3DOF motion platforms, which use electric actuators.
