Porsche or Ferrari? On a simulator you do not have to pick: you can put guests in a Porsche 911 GT3 R and a Ferrari 296 GT3 on the same track and let the lap times argue it out. Because GT3 racing balances the cars against each other, the comparison is fair — the differences you feel come from where each car carries its engine and how it puts power down, not from one simply being faster.
The racing records
At Le Mans, Porsche holds the record for overall wins by a manufacturer: its 2017 victory was its “record-extending 19th overall” (Sportscar365), a total also listed in the organizer’s historical statistics. Ferrari won Le Mans nine times between 1949 and 1965, according to those same ACO records, and has won the last three editions: the 2025 victory by the No. 83 AF Corse 499P was Ferrari’s third in a row, with the No. 6 Penske Porsche 963 about 14 seconds behind in second (Sportscar365).
Different engineering, same race
The two brands take different routes to the same class. Porsche’s 911 GT3 R uses a water-cooled flat-six mounted at the rear, producing about 565 PS. Ferrari’s 296 GT3 is mid-engined, and GT3 grids also include front-engined cars such as BMW’s M4 (Fanatec). Balance of Performance then adjusts fuel capacity, ballast, airflow or boost and ride height so these different layouts can fight for the same wins. Sims such as Assetto Corsa Competizione apply SRO’s licensed BoP directly, so a head-to-head in GT3 trim is a fair fight on a simulator too.
How to run a Porsche-vs-Ferrari challenge
- Same class, same track: GT3 versions of each car, so BoP keeps it close.
- Pick a side: guests choose a team badge before they drive, and the team with the best average lap wins.
- Swap cars for the final: the top drivers from each team race the rival car, which settles the debate about whether it was the car or the driver.
For corporate events, the team format matters more than the hardware tier. For private parties, keep it light. For trade shows, short runs keep the line moving. Tell us which cars and track you want and we will confirm what we can set up; see the cars and tracks pages.
What the motion platform can and cannot do
A motion platform cannot hold you under real g-forces for seconds at a time, because it can only move within a small range. Motion-cueing software works around that. Researchers describe reproducing the quick, high-frequency part of each movement with real platform motion, tilting the seat so gravity stands in for longer accelerations, and then slowly “washing out” back to center so the platform stays inside its limits (Scheidel et al., arXiv). SIGMA Integrale describes its DK2 system as servo-motor actuators with 2 inches (50 mm) of travel, driven by the game’s telemetry to produce pitch, roll and heave for braking, acceleration, cornering and road texture.
Our fleet is 10 full-motion rigs. The full-motion rigs use SIGMA Integrale 2DOF/3DOF motion platforms, which are driven by electric actuators.
