Rent if you need racing simulators for a handful of event days a year. Buy or lease if the rigs will be used most weeks, for example in a venue, dealership or office, and you are ready to handle software licensing, maintenance, storage and staffing. Renting from SimsForHire costs $2,750 per full-motion rig per day, plus tax and insurance, and includes delivery within 50 miles of Miami, setup, staff and teardown.

What a rental day includes

What buying really involves

Hardware is more than one line item

Professional rigs are assembled from components. As listed on manufacturers' sites in October 2026: a SIGMA Integrale DK2 motion system costs $3,950 with 3 actuators or $4,900 with 4, and works with an aluminum extrusion chassis that is sold separately (SIGMA Integrale); a Simucube 2 Pro direct-drive wheelbase (25 Nm) is $1,299 (Simucube); a Fanatec Gran Turismo DD Pro wheelbase (8 Nm) is $599.99 (Fanatec). Add a cockpit, pedals, a steering wheel, screens and a gaming PC, and the price climbs from there.

Software licenses for business use

This is the cost many first-time buyers miss. iRacing's standard Terms of Use license the software for "personal, non-commercial" use and forbid showing it to others at a car show, convention, arcade or other location-based site without iRacing's written consent (iRacing Terms of Use and EULA, Aug 2026). iRacing sells a separate commercial version under its own Commercial Software Terms, licensed per location and per number of licenses. Check the commercial terms of whatever sim software you plan to run before you buy hardware.

Warranty, upkeep and storage

SIGMA's DK systems carry a 3-year electrical and 1-year mechanical warranty (SIGMA Integrale). After that, repairs are yours. You will also need somewhere to keep the rigs, a way to move them, and someone trained to run them on the day.

A quick break-even check

Add up what owning would cost you over the period you care about: purchase price, software licenses, storage, transport, insurance, repairs and staff time. Divide that by the rental day rate. Every $2,750 of ownership cost equals one full-motion rental day (rental rates are plus tax and insurance). If you would not use the rigs for more days than that, renting is the cheaper choice.

When buying or leasing is the better choice

SimsForHire also sells and leases simulators; ask us for a quote. If you are still deciding, rent for an event first and see how much use the rigs get. For one-off and occasional events, see our corporate events, trade shows and brand activations pages.
